Located in northwestern Wyoming, against the stunning backdrop of the Absaroka, Beartooth and Big Horn Mountains, Northwest College is a cornerstone of education and cultural enrichment for the city of Powell, and the wider Bighorn Basin region. Established in 1946, the College enjoys strong community support, a private nonprofit foundation with long-standing annual and planned giving programs, and an active alumni association.
In addition to its main campus in Powell, Northwest College also features a dedicated equine facility, agricultural pavilion, rodeo arena, observatory, and nearby locations for its Center for Training and Development and Adult Education programs. The College also offers select courses in Cody. On-campus housing options range from traditional residence halls to apartment-style living.
With a diverse offering of degree and workforce certificate programs, Northwest College plays a pivotal role in the local economy, which is based on oil, agriculture, ranching, and tourism. The College also hosts community events, art exhibitions, and performances that enrich Powell's cultural scene.
