Student travel opportunities at Northwest College offer experiences beyond the classroom
and beyond campus that enhance both personal growth and academic understanding. They
enable students to explore different cultures, develop global perspectives, and strengthen
their professional skills.
All student travel experiences are led by Northwest College faculty members, and many
occur during regular breaks in the academic calendar. Whether exploring world-renowned
landmarks, learning about ancient and modern cultures, or connecting with communities
in a new city, college-sponsored travel prepares students for an interconnected world
while creating unforgettable memories.
Among the international locations our students have visited in recent years are France, England, Vietnam, China, Cuba, Argentina, Uruguay, Morocco, Portugal, Chile, Colombia, Spain, Mexico, Iceland and Pakistan. And of course, annual trips to one of the world's most popular destinations, Yellowstone National Park, practically right out the front door!
Dedicated to Experiential Learning Through Adventure (DELTA) offers adventure-based learning in the form of programs, workshops and camps.
Field-study courses deepen participants' understanding of history, culture, arts,
language, key events, and the environment of another region or country.
This is a great opportunity for supervised travel. It is helpful to have an experienced guide in a unfamiliar location, especially if there is a foreign language spoken. It is nice to have the security of fellow students with you. For students who are hesitant to travel, trips such as these help in the planning - travel, lodging, meals, etc. Group rates help make trips relatively affordable, plus students get college credit! NWC Field Studies are safe, affordable, educational, and fun. Plan to join us!
Courses are offered during weekends, Winter Holiday, Spring Break, and summer months.
