International Student & Scholar Services

The Office of International Student & Scholar Services provides support and services to the intercultural community at Northwest College. Our mission is to help prepare Northwest College students for global and diverse communities. We are dedicated to working with students, faculty, staff and community members and strive to create a campus that is welcoming, supportive, and engaged in diversity, intercultural awareness and student success.

International Recruitment, Admissions & Enrollment

  • Advising on college admission requirements and review of academic qualifications
  • I-20 document issuing
  • Academic advising and support

Intercultural Student Advising and Counseling

  • Confidential advising for personal matters
  • Referrals and guidance for other college services

Immigration Assistance and International Student Support

  • Information on how to maintain visa status
  • Advising on applying for campus jobs, Curricular Practical Training (CPT) and Optional Practical Training (OPT), school transfers, permission to extend stay in U.S. and international travel
  • Advising on filing tax returns, obtaining a social security and applying for a driver's license

Social, Cultural, and International Programs

  • Social activities: Trips, presentations, gatherings, and festivals to bring together American and international students
  • Friendship Family Program: Provides international students the opportunity to meet and develop relationships with individuals and families in the local communities
  • Social events: Initiates cultural exchange and understanding through intercultural festivals, movies, discussions and friendship.
