November 03, 2023

The Native Ways student club at Northwest College will be hosting the 27th Annual Buffalo Feast on Thursday, November 30 at 6:00 p.m. in the Yellowstone Conference Center. The feast includes bison, roasted red potatoes, seasonal roasted vegetables, roasted beet salad with goat cheese mousse, Three Sisters soup, bannock bread and berry soup.

His passion is tribal bison restoration, and he has worked tirelessly to restore conservation buffalo to tribes across North America. He serves as Tribal Buffalo Program Manager for the National Wildlife Federation’s Tribal Partnerships Program and sits on the board of directors for the Inter-Tribal Buffalo Council. Baldes also serves as executive director of the Wind River Tribal Buffalo Initiative and oversees the tribes’ growing buffalo herd. He is featured in the new Ken Burns documentary The American Buffalo in the companion segment “Homecoming” that aired in October 2023. You can stream the video at: https://www.pbs.org/video/the-american-buffalo-special-homecoming/.
