The NAEMT Pre-hospital Trauma Life Support (PHTLS) course is the leading continuing
education program for prehospital trauma care, teaching students to improve rapid
assessment, critical thinking, and intervention skills for adult and pediatric multi-system
trauma patients.
Its target audience includes a wide range of emergency medical practitioners, such
as EMTs, paramedics, nurses, physician assistants, and physicians, and it is also
available for first responders .
